Herbal Medicine Process

Sessions are 50 minutes in length and include consultation about current health issues ranging from the physical to the psychological and spiritual. Diagnostic tools may include visual inspection of the tongue and feeling the radial pulse (on the wrist) to detect imbalances in energetics and functioning. Specific herbs and custom formulas guided by Traditional Chinese Medicine and other herbal medicine frameworks may be indicated to address presenting health concerns. If herbal remedies are indicated, I set time aside to design a custom formula or formulas to gently and efficiently help restore your body to optimal functioning. Single herbs may also be integrated into an overall treatment plan, and you may be referred to a nutritional consultant if it seems that dietary changes would support your journey to better health. Time for treatment-plan and formula creation is charged separately from the 50-minute consult, and all formulas are crafted offsite at an herbal apothecary. You will have the ability to create your own patient portal at Five Flavors Pharmacy and pay for your remedies there; they will then be compounded and shipped directly to the address you provide.  

Depending on your unique health presentation and wellness needs, a 20-minute follow-up or 50-minute follow-up session may be suggested to reevaluate and adjust formulas, if needed. Through your online portal, you will have the ability to order your own refills directly from Five Flavors.
